AI Help

It sounds like there may be a mechanical issue with the 3D printer. I recommend checking the printer's bed level, the tightness of the belts, and the condition of the extruder. If the issue persists, it might be helpful to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.

that sounds like your motor stalling. make sure the gantry moves freely and check your limit switch or tune sensorless homing

tall lynx
#

Ok

tall lynx
#

Do you know how I could fix that?

ashen osprey
#

make sure your belt isn't damaged and is at the proper tension. is the clicking noise similar to the first noise you were hearing?

tall lynx
#

No, it’s just a little click whenever it’s printing

tall lynx
#

I’m new to all of this

ashen osprey
#

you will have to visually inspect it. look for separation or strands sticking out

tall lynx
#

Ok

#

It’s a self-leveling 3-D printer so do you think that’s what could be making a clicking?

ashen osprey
#

does the clicking happen when its moving the gantry the bed or the extruder?

#

im not familair wit this particular one. does it have a probe?

tall lynx
#

It’s like when the extruder is moving but it don’t happen like the whole time it like has like a three second part in between it

#

I don’t think it has a probe, but I think it’s a self leveling bed

ashen osprey
#

it looks like you have a hall effect sensor

#

could be your gears slipping

#

on the extruder

tall lynx
#

How would I fix that

ashen osprey
#

retract your filament and see if its being ground down

#

if its that try to adjust tension on the extruder

tall lynx
#

I think it might have a clock

#

Clog

ashen osprey
#

yeah thats the next thing i was going to say

#

do you know how to do a cold pull?

tall lynx
#

Yeah, I tried doing a cold pull but nothing happened

ashen osprey
#

if you have a spare nozzle, it might be good to swap that to eliminate that as a possibility

tall lynx
#

I don’t got a spare

ashen osprey
#

take the nozzle off and try to feed filiment all the way through the extruder before you replace the nozzle

tall lynx
#

How do I do that

ashen osprey
#

hopefully you have a nozzle wrench of some kind. a good place to start would be to look up your printer model and "nozzle replacement" and see if there is a walkthrough

tall lynx
#

Ok

#

Does that look like a clog?

ashen osprey
#

that looked ok to me

#

is it a 0.4 nozzle?

tall lynx
#

Yes

ashen osprey
#

usually a clog would make the filiment come out sideways

#

are you able to get a video of the clicking sound?

tall lynx
#

I’ll try

ashen osprey
#

or maybe try to isolate it to the extruder by telling it to extrude like 50mm?

tall lynx
#

I guess my 3d printer is bipolar lol its not clicking no more

ashen osprey
#

lol

tall lynx
#

Thanks for your help tho

ashen osprey
#

are you doing a full print of something?

tall lynx
#

Yes

ashen osprey
#

cool, give that a shot and feel free to come back here if you get stuck

tall lynx
#

Ok thank you

ashen osprey
#

no problem, good luck

tall lynx

@ashen osprey I have another question. I’m bout to send you a photo and can you look at the circle part in the photo how come the circle port the base level looks bad but the one that’s not circled the base level on that one doesn’t look bad I mean the bottom layer.

Is it stuck to the build plate or moving?

#

Usually if the first layer isnt good its either bed level, bed adhesion or you might have had a piece of old filament stuck to the nozzle

#

Id say stsrt with making sure your build plate is clean, isopropyl alcohol is best to clean with, use a microfiber rag
