I am using petg to print a deck box for MTG. First I was having issues with the magnets fitting. Fixed that. And now for no reason I can figure out I cannot get it to not have a separation over the magnet voids. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Im new to printing with petg. If you think another filament would work better but would be able to take abuse please let me know.

Ive printed multiple and the same failure at the same point keeps happening.

FYI the reason I went with petg is because I want it to be able to take abuse and car heat better.

It sounds like you may be experiencing warping or layer separation issues with PETG. Here are some troubleshooting tips:

  1. Ensure your print bed is leveled properly and clean. PETG tends to stick very well to a clean and heated print bed.

  2. Adjust your print bed temperature. PETG typically prints best on a heated bed at around 70-80°C.

  3. Increase your print bed adhesion. You can try using adhesion aids such as glue sticks, PEI sheets, or specialized bed adhesion sprays.

  4. Check your printing temperature. PETG generally prints well between 230-250°C. Make sure you're within this range.

  5. Consider adjusting your printing speed and retraction settings. PETG prints better with slower speeds and minimal retractions to avoid stringing.

If you continue to have issues with PETG, you may also consider trying other filaments like ABS or ASA, which also offer good heat resistance and durability. However, keep in mind that each material has its own printing characteristics, so you ma...
