Hi all, I’ve logged about 30-40 hours on my kobra s1 and I have started to get some strange issues. The main thing is inconsistent extrusion. Benchy prints, both fast and slow, create these strange holes in my prints, as if termites have been through them. Extruding the filament I can hear pops but I have already “dried” the filament overnight inside the printer. The extruded line of filament feels rough to the touch, almost like thin yarn. I’m currently using Kingroon Light Gray PLA Basic, with a recommended temperature of 190-210. The kobra s1’s temperature automatically sets to 230 and 205 later and decreasing the temperature to 200 has reduced the issue but not resolved it. Switching to creality hyper series PLA black the benchy came out a lot better. Firmware is up to date according to the slicer. Doing a full system calibration has not solved this issue. Any help will be much appreciated!

It sounds like you may be experiencing a partial clog or issue with the filament itself. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
-
Check the nozzle: Make sure there is no debris or filament residue clogging the nozzle. You may need to clean or replace the nozzle if necessary.
-
Filament quality: Even if the filament has been dried, it may have absorbed moisture from the environment. Consider trying a different brand or batch of filament to see if the issue persists.
-
Temperature settings: Since lowering the temperature has helped somewhat, experiment with different temperature settings within the recommended range to find the optimal temperature for your filament.
-
Extruder calibration: Ensure that your extruder steps/mm are properly calibrated to ensure accurate filament extrusion.
-
Check for other mechanical issues: Inspect the extruder assembly and hotend components for any signs of wear or misalignment that could be causing extrusion issues.

Sure. The benchy is the 15 minute benchy included in the test files folder and I have not tampered with that in any way. The time is accurate in the sense that it prints in around 14 and a half minutes to 15 minutes but quality is not as great as it was before.
