Hello, just got a few questions. As you can see, those opengrid boards are warped at the edges so are they usable? And how can I fix future prints?
Also my walls have steel studs so would it be fine to mount the snaps using self driving screws or is it better to mount into drywall using drywall anchors?

Hello! Warping at the edges of opengrid boards can affect print quality but may still be usable depending on the severity. To prevent this in future prints, ensure the printer bed is properly leveled and use appropriate bed adhesion methods like a heated bed or adhesive sprays.

For mounting snaps on walls with steel studs, using self-driving screws should be sufficient as long as they are compatible with steel studs. If you prefer mounting into drywall, using drywall anchors can provide more stability. It's important to consider the weight and size of the object being mounted when choosing the method. Let me know if you need more assistance!

Will do from now on

Those boards are still usable right?

#

They have a flex in the middle so I'm not sure if I should mount at all 4 corners to force the board to open up straight

Snap mount

Warping can be a real issue, it can ruin the foundation of the printed part and its dimensional accuracy, leading to a potentially unusable part or a detached print.
Warping happens due to the shrinkage of plastic as it cools.

Here are some easy fixes:

  • Make sure that the buildplate is completely clean, refer to ?bedcleaning
  • Check if your bed is set to the correct temperature.
  • No or minimal part cooling for the first few layers, usually one or two.
  • Using a brim (or raft as a last resort) can ensure better adhesion to the buildplate.
  • Using an adhesive such as gluestick, hairspray or a specialized adhesive can be an easy and safe solution. This depends highly on the used buildplate material.
  • Be careful for ambient temperature changes such as opening doors, windows or the printers enclosure. A gust of cold air can throw off your temperatures enough to cause warping.

also air conditioning + heating vents.
