#Bambu A1 Prints Too Close to Plate – Ruins Print Surface

Hi everyone,

I’ve been running into a really frustrating issue with my Bambu A1. No matter what I try, the printer seems to print way too close to the build plate. The filament gets pressed down so hard that it feels almost engraved into the surface. I literally have to scrape it off, and it already ruined one plate because I had to use a knife to get the prints off.

What I’ve tried so far:

Different brands of PLA

Fresh install of the software

Swapped in a brand-new plate (same problem happens)

It doesn’t seem to be a filament or plate issue, so I’m thinking it must be something with the calibration or Z-offset, but the automatic calibration isn’t solving it.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to fix it before I destroy another plate?

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with your printer's bed leveling. Since you have already tried different filaments and a fresh plate, the next step would be to manually adjust the Z-offset to ensure the proper distance between the nozzle and the build plate. You can refer to your printer's manual or online guides for instructions on how to do this. Make sure to adjust the Z-offset in small increments until you find the correct level. Additionally, check if there are any physical obstructions on the print bed or the nozzle that could be causing the issue. If manual adjustment does not solve the problem, you may need to recalibrate or check for any potential hardware issues with the printer.
