Hello,

Iam pretty new to 3D printing but i try to explain my problem best as possible.

Iam useing a Kobra 3 with ACE. For the print i use PLA + right now. The model is pretty round and it seems that the printer got some issues with it. As you can see on the pictures... The sections where the support is connected to are open and rough. To get a better result i already changed the layer from 0.2 to 0.12 in the current print. It seems that on round surfaces the printer have a problem, even with support to close the print.

Any tips how i can get a better result without sanding the model to death? Thanks a lot in advance.

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with overhangs and rough surfaces on your round model. Here are some tips to improve the print quality without excessive sanding:

  1. Increase the support density: You can adjust the support density settings in your slicing software to provide more support for overhanging sections, which can help improve the surface finish.
  2. Adjust support placement: Ensure that support structures are placed strategically to provide adequate support for overhangs while minimizing contact points on the visible surfaces of the model.
  3. Reduce print speed: Slowing down the print speed can improve the accuracy of the print and help reduce imperfections on round surfaces.
  4. Check cooling settings: Proper cooling is essential when printing with PLA+. Make sure the cooling fan is functioning correctly and adjust the cooling settings in your slicing software if necessary.

By implementing these tips, you should see an improvement in the overall print quality of...

In this 3D Printing 101 I'll show you how to generate the strongest, most reliable support structures around! But be warned! These supports are only for models that need it... because they're incredibly tough.

Support material in 3D printing lets us defy gravity, but it does eat up additional filament and add time to the print. My patrons requested a guide on tuning support material settings in the slicer, so this video covers the most important parameters across a range of slicers, as well as ways to apply support more efficiently.
