I've tried adjusting the z offset but I get bad layering, the screws for the z axis seem to be on well, and I've tried multiple times with the auto leveler and I'm still hearing the printer head coming in contact with the print. How do I fix this without loosing too much quality?

It sounds like you may need to calibrate your printer's build platform. Try manually leveling the bed by adjusting the screws so that the nozzle is at the correct height above the bed at all points. You can use a piece of paper as a guide to ensure the right distance. Make small adjustments until you achieve the proper level. This should help prevent the nozzle from coming into contact with the print, leading to better quality prints.

Hottightening the Nozzle

Tighten your nozzle at the highest possible temperature to make sure it fully seals against the heatbreak.
If the nozzle bottoms out against the heatblock, the heatbreak is not installed correctly. Refer to the graphic. Note that the maximum printing temperature is about 20C lower.

If you have a PTFE lined hotend, make sure you have taken care of ?thegap

I have yet to try that. I’ll check soon.
I’m still working a little bit with z offset adjustments at the moment.

Ok, mine did that for a bit and I think that was the problem

Making sure the heatsink is down tight is important too - I have had issues on various printer because something is just a tiny bit loose!
