It sounds like there might be an issue with the slicing settings in OrcaSlicer after you cut the model. One possible solution is to use a different software like Meshmixer to cut the model and ensure that the slicing process is smooth. Feel free to share the files with us, and we can take a look and provide guidance on how to handle the slicing issue.

I've got a Bambu Lab A1, and am printing with Basic Black PLA.

This service offers a free 3d model repair tools, to fix non-manifold objects (objects with tiny gaps or reversed faces):

The software Microsoft 3D Builder, Orca Slicer and Prusa Slicer can also attempt to repair a model.

What is Manifold Geometry
It is important that a model's mesh is manifold in order for a slicer to accurately determine where to generate a tool path to print plastic and where not to.

In relation to 3d printing a model is manifold when you could imagine filling the entire internal volume with water from one source. In practice this means that the model mesh has one single shell with no other shells that overlap or intersect with one another and the shell has no holes in it and the mesh has no flipped normals. You can think of a shell like that of an egg shell, it encloses a single volume of space. If there is more than one shell then filling any one shell the fluid cannot reach the other shells. If shells are nested within one another completely then the volume between the two shells can be filled. If shells partly overlap then only some of the volume of one or both of the shells can be filled. If shells have holes or flipped normals then the volume will leak water.

I thought this worked, until I sliced the model to find it had gone wrong once more. Can anybody help?

I believe it is because the model itself has holes that lead into the inside of the model. It isn't solid, instead just 3 or 4 layers.

hey, i know this post is kinda old, but if you’re still dealing with this i have a tool that can pinpoint exactly what’s wrong in the stl (self-intersections, non-manifold, etc). happy to take a look if it helps.
