It sounds like there might be an issue with the Z-axis endstop or sensor. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem:
-
Check the Z-axis endstop or sensor: Make sure it is properly connected to the control board and that it is functioning correctly. You can test it by manually triggering it and observing if the printer recognizes the signal.
-
Adjust the Z-axis endstop position: If the endstop is triggered too late or too soon, it might cause the Z-axis to crash into the bed. You can try adjusting the position of the endstop and see if it resolves the issue.
-
Check the Z-axis motor and leadscrew: Make sure there are no obstructions or mechanical issues with the Z-axis motor or leadscrew that could be causing it to move too far down.
If these steps don't solve the problem, it might be best to seek assistance from a professional technician or contact the manufacturer for further support.

its all connected, and ik this because i did some further testing. If i force it to probe int he center of the bed it works, goes a bit too far down but still works. However on the edges of the bed it fails. I tried putting hard stops on the x and y so that it homes in the middle of the bed, and that worked at first but then it tries bed levevling off of the side of the bed.
i believe it uses a strain gauge? i dont have a multimeter but i can prob get one. Supposedly a red light on the motherboard is supposed to turn on when the z probe hits but it doenst
