I’ve had my A1 for about 3 days now so I’m relatively new to how it usually operates but something I’ve noticed on my last 3 prints was a grinding noise when the bed y-axis would home at the start of the prints (as heard in the video).

The prints come out fine, no artifacts but I’m worried the belt might get damaged over time, I lubed up the y axis belt cos I got a notification after the resonance dampening stuff had run.

So far I checked the belt tension (taut), so I’m not sure where the problem is from.

It's great that you're being proactive in troubleshooting the issue with your 3D printer. The grinding noise during homing on the Y-axis could indicate a few potential problems. Here are some suggestions for further troubleshooting:

  1. Check for any obstructions or debris that may be causing the grinding noise. Make sure the belt and pulleys on the Y-axis are clean and free of any foreign objects that could be causing interference.

  2. Ensure that the belt tension is not too tight or too loose. It's good that you checked the tension and confirmed it is taut, but double-check to make sure it's within the manufacturer's recommended specifications.

  3. Inspect the motor and the pulleys on the Y-axis for any signs of wear or damage. The grinding noise could be caused by components that are not aligned properly or are in need of replacement.

If the issue persists after checking these components, it may be worth contacting the manufacturer for further assistance or to see if there are a...

The problem is persistent during the homing phase of the prints, when moving the axis via the controls I get the same problem until one of the axis limits is bumped

#

Like if I move the bed back there’s a loud thunk

#

But then if I partially move it forward and back again it’s fine

#

It’s like the end stops are messed up

#

Which is really weird cos I’ve calibrated 3 times, factory reset, checked for debris, updated firmware. All the software fixes

or maybe I'm hearing the wrong clicking
