I am experiencing low adhesion when printing PLA, but I suspect that it's due to the ambient temperature in the room being below 20C. Adhesion improves drastically after running for a while, where I see the chamber temperature hovers over 25C. Additionally, I have manually warmed up the chamber by heating up the build plate prior to printing, which also fixes my adhesion issue. I enabled the Chamber Temperature setting it in the filament settings for my filament as shown in the image, but this appeared to have no effect.
Is there any way I can force it to do what I'm doing manually? (setting the bed to a high temp, waiting for the chamber to reach around 25C, and then printing?)
And is this a reasonable way to solve my problems or am I masking another problem?
Thank you!
#Any way to force the Centauri Carbon to heat the chamber before printing inside of Orca Slicer?

It sounds like you are successfully identifying the issue with low adhesion due to a low ambient temperature. Manually pre-heating the build plate is a good approach to improve adhesion. However, it's important to note that simply setting the chamber temperature in the filament settings may not be sufficient to address the issue, as the printer may not actively regulate the chamber temperature during the print.
To automate the process of pre-heating the chamber before printing, you can look into using a plugin or custom G-code scripts with your slicer software. These tools can be used to add commands to pre-heat the chamber before the print starts. This way, you can ensure that the chamber temperature reaches the desired level before the print begins, improving adhesion.
While pre-heating the build plate and waiting for the chamber to reach around 25C are effective solutions for your adhesion issues, it's worth noting that consistent adhesion can also be influenced by factors like...
yeah sure thats reasonable, are you running klipper on the machine?
if so you can likely write a macro, otherwhise you'll need to manually preheat iirc
Printer's fresh out the box, and I don't think klipper is installed
it's worth noting that it does tell me the printer's chamber temperature over the elegoo monitoring thing that I can access inside of orcaslicer
not that ive messed with it, but chamber temp can be set by M141 S25or waited on with M191 S25 in slicer start gcode
Thank you! I'll give that a look and see what happens. Any good guides on custom gcode in orca? I've never messed with it before.
it just custom gcode, not orca specific, and knowing what you want to do to lookup the codes, for example m141
Set a new target heated chamber temperature and continue without waiting. The firmware will continue to try to reach and hold the temperature in the background.
