#Connector mounting without screw holes

I've come across a couple of connectors that would be perfect for my projects but i can't figure out how to design the mounting for it. The type of connector in the attached image is what i'm talking about. They don't have any screw holes and the side profiles are just straight so there is really nothing to grab on to so to speak.

Ideally it should be somewhat water resistant.

I know that there are great ways to design for these kinds of connectors since there are many of these kinds but i have a hard time finding examples of designs that implements this.

If anyone has any reference designs, ideas or can point me in the right direction i would be deeply greatful!

AI Help

When designing mounts for connectors like the one in the image, you can use techniques such as creating a friction fit, designing snap-fit features, or incorporating grooves or tabs for secure placement. Additionally, you can try searching for similar mounting solutions on platforms like Thingiverse or YouMagine for inspiration.

If you need any specific guidance or suggestions on how to design a mount for this type of connector, feel free to provide more details and I'd be happy to help!

Why water resistant? if I may ask. It could be wrong type for your application

I'm building a product that is made up of two boxes that needs to connect (one of which is a battery pack, low current). This product is going to be outside in rough conditions (on moving machines). The connector is probably not going to be in direct rain but rather between two stacked boxes, but i want the connectors to be able to handle some water in case it gets through the sealing. There are a few reason i'm looking at these pogo pin connectors, i want to keep the total size of the product small and therefore i don't want large connectors sticking out, i want it to be able to handle vibrations without losing connection so the springs might help me there and i want the boxes to be easy to stack on each other so i don't want large connectors. I'm open for other ideas. I am however still interested in knowing how these kind of connectors are built in to products for future projects.

I mean there's also the trailer plugs for caravans and stuff that do the brakes lights and indicators....
Or idk, aviator for keyboards...
They might hold up a bit better.

Magnet might come off, as pc's don't really have to hold up to those slightly rugged conditions.

Actually if you still wanting pogo's what about the stuff on battery drills as well? It's usually a slide in with a clip.
Might be more reliable.

Look at the coaster pager / guest pager systems, they use similar connectors and are watertight

Yeah those drill connectors might be a better choice. I tried one of those that was really small since I just need two pins and I need to keep the total size down. They were hard to design around for a couple of reason but I’m gonna check it out again because it might just have been the once I sourced since they were meant to be surface mounted which I don’t want. There are probably better once out there.

Thanks for all the ideas by the way!
