The printer is a sovol sv06.

Hello, i have been messing with my Z offset because my prints werent sticking very well to the bed, and from one test to another it appears my printer is printing different traces in the same layer un-alligned to eachother.
For example this is a Z offset test print, this is how it's supposed to look (in the slicer) and how it came out on the plate ( you can see the outline layers are separated by a lot while they should be together ).

How is this problem even called? I dont even know how to start to look for the solution. Even the googlable name of this problem would be great help.

My only guess is that the belt somehow got loose? But i've been cranking out the test prints one after another, i dont know how that could have happened in the couple of minutes i've been messing with the Z offset inbetween the prints.
( I paused the print early so that's why it's missing the middle )

AI Help

It sounds like you may be experiencing the issue known as layer shifting, where the layers of your print are not aligning correctly. This can happen due to various reasons such as loose belts, misaligned rails, or issues with the stepper motor.

Before attributing it to a loose belt, it would be best to check the tightness of all belts and ensure they are properly tensioned. Additionally, make sure that the X, Y, and Z-axis components are all moving smoothly without any obstructions.

I recommend checking each axis individually to determine if there is any noticeable play or movement that could be causing the shifting. Once you have made these adjustments, try printing another test to see if the issue has been resolved.

If the problem persists, feel free to provide more details, and I can try to assist you further in troubleshooting the issue with your SoVol SV06 printer.

The bot right here says this is layer shifting, which i'm thankful for because it gives me a direction to search in, however this test print is only one layer tall, so all the shifts are appearing during the printing of the same layer. Also, i did not touch the printer itself between the prints, and there have been no scraping sounds or visible nozzle dragging on the printbed, so i'm at a loss on how this even happened.

Check the screw on these are done up tight.

#

Check the screws in your extruder\hotend\printhead are done up fingertight while warm.
Wobble it, and if it feels loose....check the screws.

#

Also check under that steel sheet that goes on your bed.
There are 5 screws, these can also come loose over time.
Do these up to fingertight as well while warm.
