#Reverse Elephantfoot
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
If you are experiencing elephant foot on the top layers of your print with your Bambulab P1P using PLA at 220°C, you may want to adjust your first layer settings. Try decreasing your initial layer thickness slightly to mitigate the elephant foot effect. Additionally, ensure your bed leveling is accurate to avoid the nozzle being too close to the bed. Experiment with adjusting your extrusion multiplier to fine-tune the top layer appearance.
Did u iron it? You might also just have too high flow rate so when it prints it’s pushing out of the side
u can also try searching for "pillowing" and see if there any suggestions there / if it matches...
Its a Bambulab filament and i didnt adjust the flow rate. But with the orginal filament it should be ok right?
And it looks like its not just the top layer but the last 3-4 layers
It’ll be all your top layers
Their settings are pretty good but not perfect, filament can vary from color to color, batch from batch
If you calibrate it yourself you can get even better results
If it’s a large area even a small amount over can cause it, the small overflow adds up
Did the part also maybe come off the build plate?
That would cause this too
Like if the corners warp up
I just noticed this happening to me
Im getting same thing ( right sode was top surface)
Really i tought if im irioning it only affect the last top layer
Can you recommend the calibrating of the filament within the bambu slicer?
No it sticked Perfect.
Im printing the a part now without ironing lets see how this looks. Bc im not sure if i turned it on or off in the first pic.
usaully affect top 3 layers i think...
you could try reducing ironing flow in the slicer settings.
It looks like this without ironing
I use orca slicer for my calibrating
This is extreme now 💀
Looks weird
But it def has to do with the top layers
So I assume too high flow rate
If there isn’t enough space it has to squeeze out somewhere so it becomes wide
Might also have to do with layer time where the previous layers take less time so don’t contract as much, where the top layers have much more time to cool down/contract
Yup got same issue , ive done flow dynamic calibration, and all thr usual stuff already
Real pain for parts who need to fit together
But it looks like the mid section is falling in too
That means this is prob the issue and it’s just shit filament
I have the issue and its polymaker pro , been using for years
Can’t speak to it, haven’t used it
But some filaments are more/less prone to warping
I only use 2 walls and 8% infill. The part is not high but wide maybe i should use 3 walls an more infill to support the walls and stop the from falling in?
If you do a taller piece (even if it's skinny) does it still show up in the same place?
Could it be mechanical?

I will print a simple cube and see if it still occurs
