#0.2 nozzle quality issues

Hello, after printing for some years in fdm I wanted to swap my usual .4 nozzle to a .2 in order to print very small things.
To my surprise, despite having very good result with my cheap ender3 with the original nozzle, I really struggled to have a print finishing.
After a lot of trouble shooting and search on internet I finally manage to have a print completing without unsticking to the print bed or any other fatal issue.
But my problem is that I noticed a lot of stringing, so I tried the usual fix:
checking extruder step/mm setting
increasing retraction distance
increasing retraction speed
reducing temperature (I am currently at 180°C for a PLA that indicate a temperature between 185°C and 195°C, sunlu meta PLA for reference)

All of that definitively helped but I still have some issues despite now having some parameters that I consider a bit extremes.

First picture:
Test prints with increasing retraction distance and speed (lower on the left and progressively higher on the right up to the current setting for the last one, also the last one detached from the print bed near the end of the print, that's why the last layers are a bit worse than the first ones).

Second picture:
Current settings, the one not detailed are the default one of ultimaker cura 5.10.0 with default Ender3, 0.2 nozzle and Ultra Quality profile.

Does any of you faced similar issues and do you have any parameters with which I could play around to try to make this a bit better?
Any advice is welcome.

Thanks for the one who took the time of reading this.

AI Help

It sounds like you've already tried a lot of troubleshooting steps to address stringing in your prints with a smaller nozzle size. However, if you're still experiencing stringing issues, here are a few additional suggestions you can try:

  1. Retraction Extra Prime Amount: Increase the "Retraction Extra Prime Amount" setting in your slicer. This can help to prime the nozzle before each new travel move, reducing the likelihood of stringing.

  2. Printing Speed: Try reducing the overall printing speed slightly. Slower speeds can sometimes help reduce stringing by giving the filament more time to cool and solidify before the nozzle moves to a new location.

  3. Coasting: Experiment with enabling the "Coasting" feature in your slicer. Coasting allows the printer to stop extruding filament a little before the end of a print move, which can help reduce pressure in the nozzle and minimize stringing.

  4. Print Temperature: While you've already lowered the temperature, you could...

Calibration
Calibration and tuning can help with all aspects of print quality.
Extruder calibration should be done only once, and then again if you change any hardware on your extruder setup (new tube, gear drive, different motor, etc).
Flow calculation should be done for every filament, even different colours from the same brand.

A number of calibration and tuning guides exist online:
