I want less stringing and better quality. I’m using PLA filament and it was printed on a anycubic kobra go also using orca slicer

To reduce stringing with PLA filament on your Anycubic Kobra Go, you can try the following:

  1. Adjust your retraction settings: Increase the retraction distance between 4-7mm and retraction speed between 40-60mm/s.
  2. Check your printing temperature: PLA generally prints well between 190-220°C, so make sure your nozzle temperature is within this range.
  3. Enable Z-hop when retracted to prevent the nozzle from dragging over the printed part.
  4. Ensure your filament is dry, as moisture can contribute to stringing.

For better quality prints, make sure your printer is properly calibrated, use the correct print settings (layer height, print speed, etc.), and consider optimizing your cooling settings to prevent overheating. Experimenting with different infill patterns and wall thicknesses can also improve print quality.

Regarding using Orca slicer, ensure you have configured the settings accurately for your printer and filament. Consider exploring different slicer software options if y...

😅 i'd....just recommend drying this roll on your bed.....
New stuff can come wet btw

What if i told you that you already have everything you need to assemble one of the best filament dryers available? Don't believe me? In this video i'll show you how, with a combination of very simple principles, we can all dry filament without an oven for free.

** Wet Filament**
Filaments can be “wet” from time to time and this includes some of the most popular filaments such as PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA and TPU. Because of the hygroscopic nature of these polymers, they absorb water from the air and become “wet”. This can manifest in your prints as blobs and signs of underextrusion, because small bubbles of water vapor get trapped in the plastic as you extrude.

Another common problem due to filament being wet is stringing and, when extremely wet, structurally compromised prints. PETG, Nylon and TPU are examples of extremely hygroscopic filaments (they absorb moisture really quickly), whereas the most common filaments like PLA and ABS are only mildly hygroscopic.

❗Keep in mind, even if your filament is fresh out of the packaging, manufacturers often use water baths to cool filament in the extrusion process so it might be wet from factory. ❗

Update I’m so happy I finally fixed it. It was the retraction I had to reduce it originally I increased retraction to 0.8 mm and it got worse so I went to 0.4 mm and it was perfect
