#Eccentric nuts feel overtightened - but if I go any looser the gantry becomes wobbly? Sunlu T3.

I've got a problem with the z-axis eccentric nuts on my Sunlu T3 (like an ender 3 - has 1 lead screw, 1 eccentric nut on the left, 2 on the right).

I think they're too loose because I can push the gantry up/down, and it moves and just spins the z-rod. There is also a little bit of wobble to the gantry.

But I also think they're too tight, because when I leave my printer for a while it feels like the wheels almost develop flat edges, where the gantry wants to gravitate towards. If I move the gantry and leave it for a while, the flat spot where it snaps to moves. I'm aware the wheels are able to slightly deform themselves if over tightened, and then return to their original shape when loosened - which is what I think is happening here.

How can it be too loose and too tight? The gantry has also very slightly wobbly, but its really quite minor. I've tried multiple times loosening off all the eccentric nuts and gradually tightening them - but by the time that the gantry is stable and not wobbly, the nuts are already so tight that after about an hour the wheels have the "flat edges" on them. Has anyone had this problem before or any ideas how it could be fixed?

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with the eccentric nuts on your Z-axis. When adjusting the eccentric nuts, it's important to find the right balance between being too loose and too tight. Here are some steps you can take to address this problem:

  1. Loosen all the eccentric nuts on your Z-axis gantry.
  2. Adjust the eccentric nuts on the right side carefully, ensuring they are not too loose or too tight. Make small adjustments until the gantry moves smoothly without wobbling.
  3. Once you have the right tension on the right side, tighten the eccentric nut on the left side (where the lead screw is) just enough to eliminate any wobble in the gantry.
  4. Check the gantry movement and stability. If there is still wobble or the wheels are developing flat spots, make further minor adjustments to the eccentric nuts as needed.
  5. Monitor the printer over time to see if the flat spots on the wheels persist or if the gantry remains stable.

It may take some trial and error to find the...
