Hi, I did the (I think) usual test of e-steps by checking if the printer properly extrudes 100mm of filament when asked to extrude that amount manually. It seems that it is extruding 97mm - how do I proceed from here with the prusa firmware? I don't see an option for it. Machine is Prusa mk4s

If your Prusa MK3S is extruding 97mm instead of the expected 100mm during the e-steps calibration test, you can adjust the e-steps value in the firmware. Here's a general guide on how to adjust e-steps in Prusa firmware:

  1. Connect to your printer via USB and open PrusaSlicer or Pronterface software.
  2. Send the M503 command to retrieve the current e-steps value.
  3. Calculate the new e-steps value: New E-steps = (Current e-steps / Measured extruded length) * Desired extruded length.
  4. Send the M92 E[new e-steps value] command to update the e-steps value.
  5. Verify the changes by extruding the filament again and measuring the extruded length.
  6. Save the new e-steps value to the firmware using the M500 command.

Please note that these steps may vary slightly based on your specific firmware version or printer model. If you are unsure or uncomfortable with these adjustments, it's always a good idea to reach out to Prusa support or your local 3D printing community for assistance.
