I want to buy a new nozzle for my A1 mini, I have some questions and wanted suggestions:

  • Can I buy it cheaper somewhere off bambulab for the same quality
  • What’s the difference of entire hotend and hotend
  • What’s the difference of 0.4mm to 0.2mm (like is 0.2mm just better in every way)
  • Is installation easy?
  • Is there any disadvantages to a hardened end
I’m switching because I want to start printing Carbon fiber PETG and to my knowledge it seems like stock nozzles will wear over time blah blah blah.
    Any suggestions are useful

  • Regarding buying a new nozzle for your A1 mini, it's always a good idea to shop around and compare prices from different retailers to see if you can find a better deal. Just be sure to check reviews and ensure that you're getting a high-quality product.
  • The difference between a hotend and an entire hotend assembly is that the hotend typically refers to just the nozzle and heat block, while the entire hotend assembly includes additional components like the heater cartridge, temperature sensor, and cooling fan.
  • The main difference between a 0.4mm and a 0.2mm nozzle is the layer height and level of detail they can achieve. A 0.2mm nozzle can produce finer details but may also result in longer print times. It's not necessarily better in every way - it depends on your specific printing needs.
  • Installation of a new nozzle should be relatively easy, especially if you follow the manufacturer's instructions. Just make sure to heat up the hotend before changing the nozzle to prevent ...

So uh, a1 mini, already comes with i think stainless steel nozzle...

Most common nozzles on other printers are brass.

0.2mm isnt always better, it gets better details at the cost of limited max speed, smaller hole less plastic can fit thru, conversely larger nozzles can go faster but are more corse
if you dont want to buy bambu's nozzles you can get these clones from aliexpress that take standard nozzles https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007107609614.html https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/17znwbw/hotend_that_fits_standard_v6_style_nozzles/

the termanology hotend is a little loosy goosey especicaly with the bambu printers as the """nozzle""" is really a hotend nozzle and heatbreak assembly

# fresh kettle no i mean the carbon fiber

PETG Carbon fibre (cf) probably fine without enclosure.
You'll want some gloves to handle the filament (at least) as you can get splinters from it....

0.4 or larger recommended for items with particles (like carbon fibre) for a more clog free fun experience....

I think either e3d or phaetus was also doing a hotend conversion like poi linked...
I mean harder than the others, there possibly also tungsten carbide... But i think that only needed if you're printing metal filled filaments...

Carbon fibre is just an additive...
So if u print normal petg without enclosure... Any other petg should also be fine
