#Gaps between different colors

I'm using P1S with AMS, trying to print something thin (bookmark) with 3~4 colors. Usually those gaps are where the seams are, but sometimes it also happens on the walls of one color.
I tried to reduce the amount of colors I use, but the issue still exists.

What should I tweak? Flow rate of certain colors (in this case it seems like black is the culprit)? Retraction length? Smaller seam gap?

I feel like it's the shrinkage of certain colors...

To address gaps or inconsistencies in your multi-color prints, there are a few things you can try:

  1. Adjust your retraction settings: Experiment with increasing or decreasing the retraction length to minimize stringing and material oozing between color changes.

  2. Check your temperature settings: Ensure that your filament is being extruded at the correct temperature for each color, as different pigments can require slightly different temperatures.

  3. Verify your filament diameter consistency: Inconsistent filament diameter can affect the flow rate of each color, resulting in gaps or under/over extrusion.

  4. Optimize your seam placement: Try adjusting the seam position to a less noticeable area on your print, which may help mitigate any issues caused by color changes.

  5. Consider printing a small purge tower: Printing a small purge tower next to your main print can help ensure smooth color transitions and help remove any residue from the nozzle before switching colors.

In term...

@magic flower Also maybe look into linear \ pressure advance (pattern method)

I haven't calibrated linear advance! Didn't think of that

Ok, I'll try lowering PA a bit.
It's actually quite hard to tune PA using Orca's provided tower model.

what pa value did you use

pa usually has a value more like 0.02-0.08

Or was it 0.024~0.04?

I think it is. I don't have much issue printing regular things

I struggle with small and thin prints like these though
