Exactly the title! Working on a project and I see there's a lot of types of filaments that are gold, some are silk, some are glittery, etc. I have tried to find prints of some and found a little bit, but would love some recommendations/suggestions and such for filaments to try or to avoid! We have a bambu x1c for reference. Anything that's shiny and metallic/metal looking ish.

For a shiny and metallic look, I recommend trying out filaments like Silk Gold, Glitter Gold, or Metallic Gold. These filaments can give your prints a nice glossy finish and make them stand out. It's also worth considering filaments with special effects like silk or glitter for added visual interest. It's best to stick to reputable brands when trying out new filaments to ensure good print quality. Remember to adjust your print settings accordingly for each type of filament to achieve the best results. Happy printing!

did someone say cool filaments

#

Ah, gold/silver - avoid the "metal" silks

#

Super weak, not fun to print, generally a pita

#

If you're okay with something sparkly - Polymaker's Starlight series has silver and gold versions, I believe it's Saturn and Mercury?

#

We printed a bunch of stars using them

#

Eryone Copper/Silver/Gold silk triextrusion was also pretty good

#

Not gold but still sorta sparkly/metallic - that was Starlight Aurora from Polymaker

#

(I have literally hundreds of photos of different filaments, just takes me a bit to go through my gallery)

These are amazing!!

There are also a bunch of different purple/gold and blue/gold dual colour silks that look pretty awesome, if you're okay with a mixture

#

Plus don't be afraid to paint prints, we printed this out of red/blue coextrusion and then painted gold accents

#

(Though success will depend on your painting skills...)

i've used stuff like rub and buff on prints too...it's a wax + gold leaf mix (many colours)

We've been meaning to get an airbrush to be able to paint things more evenly, there's no really decent "gold" filament IMO
