Hey guys im trying to start modeling parts with a goal to assemble stuff. Currently im using solid edge is this good for beginners? I was wondering how would you attack creating this part? Would you start with a rectangle and start carving away? or would you rather begin with circles and connect lines? I dont know how to attack this modeling efficiently so any suggestions on how to model this would be appretiated.

Solid Edge is a great software for beginners to start modeling parts and assembling them. When creating a part like the one you described, it's often best to start with a sketch that outlines the basic geometry of the part. In this case, you may want to start by creating a sketch with the main outer shape of the part, then add details like holes or curves as needed.

It's a good practice to start with simple geometric shapes and then add details gradually, rather than trying to carve away from a complex shape. This helps to keep your model more organized and easier to modify later on. Make use of features like extrusions, revolve, and sweep to create the desired shapes efficiently.

I hope this helps you get started with modeling your parts in Solid Edge. If you have any specific questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

Imo, a lot of solid modelling is booleans...
Idk what solid edge is...

My only experience is blender + autocad....
Most people would use tinkercad or fusion 360 for cad work though...

  • can u show me whats in" figure a" please?

fusion 360 is more popular so more tutorials are available but all tools have plenty of guides on youtube
