I have bought the Bambu Lab A1 a month ago and I am trying to print my first multi color model.

I am printing this model 10 times to give away as a gift to members of my Pokémon team.
I've done 2 test prints until thus far: one with single color, one with multiple colors. The single color model came out perfectly, but the multi color print failed after 25 hours: the tail broke off. Unfortunately I did not have the timelapse option turned on, so I can not see what caused the failure.

Also the supports caused the head to look aweful.

How would you print this model? I have included the .3mf file for you to review.

I used Bambu's own PLA. The model causes quite some flushing, but I guess that's normal with such complex models.

AI Help

I recommend the following settings for printing multi-color models on the Bambu Lab A1:

  1. Use a high-quality filament that is compatible with multi-color printing to ensure good adhesion between layers.
  2. Enable the option to add manual supports in your slicer software to have better control over where the supports are placed and to avoid affecting the visible surfaces of the model.
  3. Consider printing the model at a slower speed to ensure that the layers adhere well and to minimize the chances of the tail breaking off.
  4. You may also want to increase the infill percentage and the number of top/bottom layers to provide additional strength to the model.

Additionally, consider trying a different orientation for the model to distribute the stress on the tail more evenly and reduce the likelihood of breakage.

If you continue to experience issues, feel free to ask for further assistance with troubleshooting.
