Is it even possible to print a box shape in ABS? The edges curl up
Using glue, the magnetic build plate curls up with the print
Clamping the build plate down, the glue loses and the print curls up

I tried first layer 100c and 90c other layers

SV06 plus
Using a custom enclosure that keeps it hotter than it should be tbh

AI Help

Printing a box shape in ABS can be tricky due to its tendency to warp. A few suggestions to help mitigate the warping issue:

  1. Ensure that your printer's bed is level and properly calibrated.
  2. Consider using a brim or raft when printing to help with adhesion to the build plate.
  3. Improve bed adhesion by trying different bed temperatures and bed surface treatments like using adhesion aids such as glue stick or ABS slurry.
  4. Enclosing the printer helps maintain a stable temperature, but it's important to find the right balance to prevent overheating.

By carefully adjusting these parameters and experimenting with different techniques, you should be able to achieve successful prints of box shapes in ABS.

I hope these suggestions help you troubleshoot the issue you're facing with your ABS prints. Let me know if you need further assistance!

I am printing how the photo is orienbted

weak wren

yea as the part cools internal stresses build up having a chamber keeps heat in and it doesnt have as much stress to flex off the bed

o

#

My chamber probably can't do that much heat

weak wren
#

do you have a chamber

#

how long do you preheat

daring vessel
#

It's the prusa ikea lack but I made it out of the coffee tables so it's bigger

#

so worse
I have to open the enclosure during pauses to insert parts, nuts for screws

i think you want at least 50c in the chamber, put a thermometer in there, you can also get better heat if you install a small fan below the bed

will attempt if I can meet the conditions
any other tips?

weak wren

make sure the chamber is well sealed, tape over gaps, if you do open the door maybe leave the printer paused for a few minutes to let heat come back if you can remotely un pause

And if that doesnt work you can throw a blanket over it, just maybe not for overnight prints

# daring vessel got it, thanks

Use a brim or mouse ear brims on sharp corners. The stress concentrations are the highest there. Alternatively fillet the corners.

#

And keep the bed hot at 100ºC

#

Also fancy gold speckled ABS?👀
