#Prints with TPU get worse the more I print

Hello, I print these covers on my MK3S (0.4 Nozzle) which are used as head bumpers. The filament I use is Filaflex 82a, which is actively dried constantly.

I downloaded the original print profile from the manufacturer of the filament and modified it, following the "Teaching Tech 3D Printer Calibration test". In addition, I added custom g code at the points where the top layers are printed, so that the fan speed is set to 100% for the top layers.

Everything worked well on the first print with a new nozzle (far right). It looked absolutely perfect, but the next prints got worse and worse. Is it because the nozzle is slowly clogging up? Or is there another reason?

Print settings:

Infill: Gyroid 15%

Layer height: 0.2mm

Walls: 2

Print speed: 20-30 mm/s

Nozzle temperature: 230 C

Print bed temperature: 35 C

Normal fan speed: 20%

Fan speed for bridges and top layers: 100%

Retraction: 0.2 mm

Retraction speed: 18 mm/s

It's possible that the nozzle is slowly clogging up, especially if the quality of prints deteriorated over time. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can take to improve your prints:

  1. Check the Nozzle: Inspect the nozzle for any signs of clogs or filament buildup. You can try cleaning it with a nozzle cleaning needle or a cold pull (atomic) method to remove any debris.

  2. Filament Quality: Make sure the Filaflex 82a filament is of high quality and hasn't absorbed moisture. Recheck your filament storage and drying setup to ensure the filament is adequately dried.

  3. Temperature: Experiment with different nozzle temperatures to find the ideal temperature for Filaflex 82a. It's important to maintain the correct temperature for flexible filaments.

  4. Retraction Settings: Your retraction settings seem adequate for flexible filaments, but you may need to adjust them slightly based on your print results. You could try increasing the retraction length slightly.
