Hi there, I have a Q1 that can't quite maintain 60c in my garage (I live in a cold climate).

Would a mains powered heated chamber, using an opto-isolated SSR controlled by the stock chamber heater pins be a ridiculous idea, assuming I replaced the stock heater? Anyone have a suggestion for what heater to use?

It sounds like you are trying to improve the ambient temperature for your 3D printer to operate more efficiently. Adding a mains powered heated chamber controlled by an opto-isolated SSR could be a potential solution to maintain a stable temperature. When choosing a heater, make sure it has the appropriate power rating and can reach the desired temperature range for your specific setup. It's recommended to consult with experienced community members or experts for specific heater recommendations.

And more than 200w iirc

But something like this would probably help

What kind of insulation is that? Right now I've thrown a couple of jackets and blankets around it

10 mm thick in this case

Thank you. Any thoughts on also upgrading the heater to 400W or so?

Probably not needed, assuming normal room temp it should reach and hold 60 ºC in 10 minutes ~ish

This insulation is quite cheap and doesn't cost extra electricity. Hard to remove though

Once applied

Well, hard to remove cleanly
