be patient with it, a little at a time is fine, especially around the wires
but I would also remove everything you can first
eg that pcb, the solder could get hot enough dislodge components or melt connectors
Got it
Ill got at it bit by bit with a plier then
am scared about this wire tho
Right hand side is heater, left hand side is thermistor
Looks like you may just be able to wiggle them out of the board connectors to remove the board (don’t pull on the wires, only manipulate the plugs carefully)
Should I go forward and remove the board then?
before applying the hair dryer to remove the big chunks
Carefully to keep it out of the way while you work on the blob. As @copper shuttle said remove everything you can
Remove all i can of the blob or of the hot end assembly?
sorry its just to make sure
the hot end assembly
Got it
Better to ask first (-:
the booard has most of the connectors glued to it
and most of those are inside the blob
i went to remove the fans but one of them has a single screw where the allen screw is completely round
well not completely round but round enough i cant
and if i keep trying it gets rounder
yeah that's unfortunate. Proceed with caution heating up the blob, wafting the hair dryer around a bit to not focus too much heat in one position
How long should it take to heat up the blob to make it "malleable"?
which im guessing is t the goal
I put a bit of cardboard over the board
even after few mins the blob seems immoveable
It’ll take a while but you should be able to work on it piecemeal
Try contacting sovol about it, they may or may not send a replacement of the whole extruder assembly, no guarantee tho, and if you do manage to clean this up, and they did send you a replacement then you will have a spare
I did, waiting for a response
Nice
