#Creality CR-10s need help with tramming/leveling gantry, bed

Posted here previously but haven't managed to figure out much since then. I'm trying to make sure my bed is trammed and I've got a couple of issues I'm running into that I'd like to tackle one at a time.

  1. Gantry leveling. I'm not sure that my gantry is properly level with the frame. I've got two pill bottles I want to use as a reference for that but I can't actually move the gantry manually by hand. I don't want to go in and just start messing with nuts and hoping I don't mess it up so what do I need to do to make it so I can move my gantry and rest it against the pill bottles I'm using for reference? I know there's steps after that with the eccentric nut but at the moment I can't get to that stage.

  2. Z-offset. I've got Th3d firmware on my printer, and it's not letting me adjust my z-offset below 0.0 but I can't get the nozzle to reach the bed in most positions when trying to tram the bed via screws. I'm not really sure what part of the firmware I need to go in and adjust to allow me to do that.

Any assistance on either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

For your first issue with gantry leveling, make sure your stepper motors are disabled so you can manually move your gantry. In most printers, there is an option in the menu to disable the steppers. Once you've done that, you should be able to move the gantry by hand and use the pill bottles as your reference points.

Regarding your second issue with the Z-offset, you may need to adjust the Z-offset settings in your Th3d firmware configuration. You can usually find these settings in the "configuration.h" file. Look for the Z-offset setting and make sure it allows you to go below 0.0. Once you've adjusted this setting, you should be able to fine-tune your Z-offset to get the nozzle closer to the bed for tramming.

If you encounter any specific difficulties during these steps, feel free to ask for further guidance.

Tried disabling the steppers. While there's an option for it on my printer, it will not actually let me toggle it, it doesn't seem to do anything when I select it.
