It sounds like there could be a few potential issues causing the loud noise and slow movement of the Z-axis. Here are a few things to check and troubleshoot:
-
Check the Z-axis lead screw and nut for any debris or misalignment. Make sure they are clean and properly aligned.
-
Ensure that the Z-axis stepper motor is correctly wired and connected to the control board.
-
Check the Z-axis motor driver settings in the firmware. Adjusting the driver's current limit may help resolve the issue.
-
Lubricate the Z-axis lead screw with a suitable lubricant to ensure smooth movement.
-
Make sure that the Z-axis is not binding or getting stuck anywhere along its movement path.
If you have followed these troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, you may need to further investigate the specific components of your 3D printer's Z-axis system. Feel free to ask for more detailed help or clarification on any of these steps. Good luck with resolving the issue!

stepper motor wired incorrectly?
turn off machine and try swapping the middle pin, and if it moves in the wrong direction, replace the arrangement of the connector from 1234 to 4321
