It sounds like you're dealing with adhesion issues. Here are some tips to improve bed adhesion for PLA on your Ender 3 V2:
-
Level your bed properly: Make sure your bed is leveled correctly. This is crucial for good adhesion throughout the print.
-
Clean the bed surface: Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the bed surface before starting each print. This removes any oils or residues that might affect adhesion.
-
Adjust the print bed temperature: PLA generally doesn't require a heated bed. Try printing without a heated bed or lowering the bed temperature slightly.
-
Use a brim or raft: Adding a brim or raft around your print can provide additional adhesion to the bed.
-
Experiment with different bed adhesion methods: You've tried glue, but you could also try using a different type of bed adhesive like a glue stick or painter's tape.
-
Enclosure or draft shield: Sometimes drafts in the room can affect the print. Consider using an enclosure or draft shield to maintain a stable p...

Tips for better first layer success
The first layer is quite literally the foundation of a successful print. These are some of the things to keep in mind:
- Wash your print surface with dish soap and water, refer to
?bedcleaning. - Ensure your printing temperatures are appropriate. For PLA, the ideal bed temperature is 55°C-60°C. If the lines appear to come out "gummy" and forms clumps, raising the nozzle temperature may help. Calibrate your nozzle temperature by printing a temperature tower. Refer also to
?platemps. - Relevel your bed and ensure your nozzle distance is equally spaced at each corner, refer to
?paperlevel. If your printer is equipped with a bed meshing probe such as a BLTouch or CRTouch, make sure your Z-offset positions the nozzle close enough to the bed, refer to?z-offsetfor additional information. If your printer has automatic Z-offset calibration, make sure the nozzle is clean while the calibration runs. - You can confirm that your leveling and Z-offset is correct by observing your first layer extrusion by printing a full layer test: Printables, Thingiverse Refer to
?levelingfor help with the interpretation of the results. - Ensure the nozzle is not colliding with the print. This usually presents itself as loud noises and layer shifting. Some causes may include overextrusion, insufficient cooling, mechanical Z axis issues, or insufficient Z hop
- For warp-prone materials such as ABS, Nylon, Polypropylene and others an enclosure is recommended, ensure ambient temperatures are high enough (40°C+) and stable. Consider using a specialized bed adhesive.

So for the first couple layers they are fine, it’s after the next 20-30 minutes the whole print lifts and moves and I can’t figure it out, it just won’t stick. I’ve up’d the temps and tried for both bed and nozzle and just have been stumped
Have you tried the stuff above?
#1285435245788925974 message this?
Yeah, I leveled it, cleaned it, adjusted and the other steps for the first reply and still no dice. The second response I’m about halfway through and watching the nozzle now to see if that’s what’s knocking it and it’s not. The whole thing just lifts barely and drags across the bed
I’m going to try upping the temp for the nozzle to 210 and then 215 because when I tried last it lasted until the very last 10 minutes
Can you show a picture of the first layer? The underside of a failed print for example.
Also: Basic magnetic bed. Which one?
A smooth, black surface?
Yeah one sec, I’m waiting for the most recent attempt and then I’ll send a picture. I’ve trashed the other attempts. Also I do not know what brand as I receive this as a gift but yes it is a smooth black surface
Not the best bed surface to be honest. Textured pei is my personal favorite.
So I looked up pei and that’s what it is! I see it as flat and didn’t think about texture sorry. I have one of those, sorry I’m new to this🫡
