#help me shave off 10 grams

To reduce filament usage, you can try adjusting the infill density, layer height, or shell thickness in your slicing software. You can also consider hollowing out the model or using a smaller nozzle size for finer details. Additionally, using a different type of filament, such as a lightweight or flexible material, may help reduce the amount of filament used. Feel free to experiment with these settings to achieve your desired result.
this is almost 0 infill
he said in general he doenst want it weaker
I was thinking of shaving it off the supports but I dont know how
I mean ideally for something of this shape you'd print the other way up and then you'd only need minimal support but that pattern ruins that
I'd just cut the wall count a 🤏
well the other would use more support right?
it'd be impossible to print that detail on the bottom, so doesnt really matter
have you tried lowering Line width? afaik that lowers filament usage (a lot) but it also takes longer to print
but you can design stuff to not need supports
not possible with this shape
the thing is that'll be even lower strength
they want as strong with less weight which is basically impossible apart from removing some support material
cut one milimeter off of the top
oh I see
I might turn of alternate extra wall?
not gonna do anything
there's a pattern on the top so it'll just remove like 0.2g
I accidentally turned off supports so my math was off anyway
that + removing 1 wall loop as well should be enough
Idk the model, but could changing support type help?
nah
they're using tree and normal is 40g heavier
Mm
hmmm I can get it to 254g without removing walls
I think you can get it down to sub 250 by just removing double walled trees
yeah
242
wait that is a defualt?
set this to 0
bottom of supports tab
actually might not be a thing in bambu I'm in orca
what did you change on this?
this is orca
ORCA: Support Normal, Style: Grid, Base Pattern Spacing: 10, Top interface layers: 1, Top interface spacing: 1
spacing 10 is
😬
and cut off 1 mm off of the top 😄
not the most ideal
Snug supports do anything?
Base Pattern Spacing, how far the grid is apart....you do not care how the inside looks and its just a big long bridge anyways
the whole thing is not ideal
I know what grid spacing is
and 10mm does not give ideal results
Ideal would be using 2 spools of filament for big prints
I think they lack the filament entirely
how important is a brim for PC?
yes
Oh this is in pc... oh boy
on a bambu P1S
wonderful
is that bad for pc?
what PC area you printing and did you print that before
depends on the filament
My problem isnt that it's a p1s, my problem is it seems like they have no experience with it
and how blended it is
yeah printed a good benchy with it. It is a pc mix from overtrue
fine then
preheat the chamber to 60c
remains to be seen🤷
presliced one?
no
not in PC 😄
?? since when are PC presliced files a thing lol
Statas might but other then that idk
Kinda unrelated to og question, but what are these for?
florida dude
20% branch density with no double walls seems basically perfect
this should work thanks!
will update this thread somtime tommorow when it prints
alright good luck
thanks took me like 4-5 redsings to get this to line up with the orginal

update the print failed a few hours in due to supports coming loose. I cleaned the plate and changed the tree supports to strong. Lost 70g of mat but I supposed that cant be helped.
printing good now though
