I'd be happy to help with your support settings! To assist you better, could you please provide details about your current support settings and which software you are using to slice the model for printing? This information will help us troubleshoot the issue and provide more targeted assistance.
I'm using Orca Slicer
Printer : Elegoo Neptune3 Pro
PLA+ filament from elegoo
might want to post a screenshot of what you tried
Will do once im home
The first one failed because of bad support, the second intried a different orientation and had too many supports, screwed a lot of detailed, and on the third one, another fail with support lol
could do something like this
That was my second try, and the supports destroyed a lot of details, like the chains and the base, isnt that too many supports?
Not if you tune your support distance. Ideally you paint the supports on by hand
thats what ive been trying to do, painting them by hand
but what do you mean by support distance?
in the screenshot: Top Z distance
hmm, what exactly does that do?ç
exactly what it says, controls the distance between support interface and the print
im not sure why theres a bottom Z too then?
for when you place your supports on the print itself
aah make sense, thanks
(which is to be avoided in my opinion)
i'm getting my filament dryer tomorrow, i'll be able to finish my calibrations, and then i'll give this a try, thank you
good luck
what are the advantages of not printing standing?
