  • Printer: Elagoo Mars 5 Ultra
  • Resin: Elagoo Water Washable Smoky Black
  • Slicer: CTB
  • Settings: All CTB default except Bottom exposure 32s->26s, regular exposure 2.6s->2.35s

New to printing so excuse terminology issues. I have some items I want to print flat on the bed so I get the pattern on the bottom and avoid support cleanup. The two times I've tried to do this it has printed the first like 4 layers on the bed, then a few get stuck to the release film, and then the last 90% of the print is nonexistent. I scratched my screen trying to get one off (do I need to replace this also), and I'm scared to try again and waste more resin. I have no overhangs, my object is basically a cone with a flat bottom, point at the top. (bottom side on build plate). Lastly I'm having a really hard time getting builds off the plate. I'm using Elagoo water washable and I've already lowered my bottom exposure from he default 32 to 26 and its still kind of rough. I don't wanna go too low though and waste more resin. Thanks in advance!

Edit: it seems over adhesion on the bed is an ongoing mars 5 ultra issue. some reviewers lowered it to 25, maybe i need to go below that for this resin.

It sounds like you are using a resin printer. To print flat items on the bed, ensure the bottom surface is perfectly level. You can try increasing the bottom exposure time to allow for better adhesion. If the release film is causing issues, you can replace it.

To help with adhesion without increasing the exposure time too much, make sure the build plate is properly leveled. You can also try adding support structures to the model to improve adhesion.

As for removing prints from the build plate, you can try using a spatula or scraper tool while the plate is still submerged in the cleaning solution. Be careful not to damage the build plate or the LCD screen. If prints are still hard to remove, you can try slightly increasing the bottom exposure time or adjusting the lift speed in your slicer settings.

As for your scratched screen, it's best to replace it if it affects the quality of your prints. If you continue to experience issues, consider reaching out to the manufacturer for furt...
