So my gear was getting stuck (see video). I took apart the nozzle and found a couple clogs. I have completely cleared them (twice now, put the thing back together and took it apart to reclean when it didn’t work) and the gear is still getting stuck. I also can’t manually push through the filament when the nozzle is heated like I could before.

It sounds like there may be an issue with the hotend or extruder assembly. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Make sure the nozzle is properly heated up to the correct temperature for the filament you are using.
  2. Check for any additional clogs in the nozzle or hotend that may be obstructing filament flow.
  3. Ensure the extruder gear is clean and free from any debris that could be causing it to slip or grind against the filament.
  4. Check that the PTFE tube is inserted correctly and that there are no obstructions or deformities.
  5. Double-check your filament diameter settings in your slicer software to ensure they match the actual filament being used.

If the issue persists after these steps, it might be worth getting in touch with the manufacturer for further assistance or consider replacing the hotend assembly.

so if i barely put the filament in the top, the gear will spin then when the filament gets towards the bottom it appears to get stuck and wont go through the extruder. Ive taken this thing apart 10 times to clean it and make sure theres no clogs. I can shine a light through it and see it out the other side no problem. Ive come to the conclusion that the heatblock where the pipe attaches into is not getting re-aligned properly when I reattach it after cleaning. Ive tried to make sure its aligned and it looks aligned but clearly something is up and I cant figure out how to fix it
