Hello everyone,
I'm new to 3d printing and new to this forum. I was hoping to get suggestions.
My brother gave me his old CR-10 V2 with a broken head. I've replaced it with a Sprite extruder upgrade, had to install Klipper on a Pi to get it working, added CR touch, changed beds, etc. It now works great, but my question is concerning the runout sensor.
It's currently in the old location meant for the old boudin extruder. I have no idea how or where to move it to be inline with the new filament path.
I've searched for other people that have had this issue and could not find anything.
As you can see, I've placed a small piece of filament in there for now, to keep it functioning but to effectively bypass it for now.
Has anyone had to move this sensor before? Should I try to create a new filament path from the existing location or would moving it be the ideal solution?

Moving the runout sensor to be in line with the new filament path is a good idea to ensure accurate filament detection. You can try creating a new filament path that aligns with the sensor's new location. Make sure that the filament is inserted properly and the sensor is triggered when the filament runs out. Connecting with forums and online communities specific to your 3D printer model can also provide valuable insights and guidance on sensor relocation. Good luck with your 3D printing endeavors!

This is close, but will not fit on my extruder. It does give me some ideas to think about.
How I redesigned and relocated the CR10S Pro V2 filament sensor to above the extruder stepper motor on my Micro Swiss direct extruder bracket.
