Need some assistance printing Overture High Speed TPU on a Bambu P1S. I'm getting a consistent defect in print at the same location on the model. This "blob" doesn't correlate to a seam, and the model is being printed "by object" with others on the plate. All models show this same defect recently, but it wasn't this consistent before with (I think) the same settings. I've used four spools of this filament and I don't know that its been this bad before. The model is hollow with the affected area being a "wall" during printing. Is this an artifact of the tool head traveling after printing that area? Nozzle too hot? I'm a little lost here. I can try slowing down the flow rate, but others report a flow rate of 12 mms/3 with this flow rate successfully. A minor amount of defects is acceptable to me as this is a functional part, not for display, but I still need to maintain a standard of quality for my customers.

What would be the first checks to make?
BBL P1S
0.4mm nozzle
245 first layer, 250 after
30 bed
0.985 flow ratio

Overture HS TPU
10mms/3 max flow rate
3 walls
5% infill
Filament is dry and being fed from a dry box.
Triangles infill
Print Inner Walls then Outer

It sounds like you are dealing with a challenging issue. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the consistent defect in your 3D prints:

  1. Check the filament path and make sure it is free of any obstructions or tangles. Sometimes a slight misalignment or tension could cause inconsistent extrusion.

  2. Verify that the nozzle is clean and not partially clogged. You can try a cold pull or a nozzle cleaning kit to ensure proper flow of the filament.

  3. Check the retraction settings, as excessive retraction can lead to issues like stringing or blobs. Adjust the retraction distance and speed to see if it improves the print quality.

  4. Consider adjusting the print speed and temperature settings for better adhesion and layer bonding. TPU filament can be sensitive to temperature fluctuations, so finding the optimal temperature for your specific filament is crucial.

  5. Experiment with different layer heights to see if changing the resolution affects the appearance of the defec...
