HI! my name is Stella, i am currently upgrading my (semi defective) e3v2, im adding a second z axis, a wham bam build plate, and im thinking about installing a big tree tech manta to futureproof the printer as i plan to do a lot more
i was wondering how compatible it would be with the current e3v2 interface, and how it would change how i level the printer (using an official bltouch)

the reason i dont want to stick with the current board (which is stock) is ive just been having issues with bed leveling and compatibility, and i figured why would i do a setup twice when im just going to need a better board anyways?

any thoughts reccomendations or grievances?

Hi Stella! It sounds like you have some exciting upgrades planned for your printer. The Big Tree Tech Manta board is a popular choice for those looking to upgrade from stock boards for improved performance and compatibility. It should work well with your E3V2 setup, but it's always a good idea to double-check compatibility before making the switch.

Regarding leveling the printer with the BLTouch, the process should remain similar to what you're currently doing with the stock board. The BLTouch will still be responsible for leveling, so you should be able to continue using it without significant changes.

As for recommendations or grievances, it's great that you're thinking ahead and planning for future upgrades. Just be sure to research the installation process for the Manta board and make sure you have all the necessary information and tools before you start.

If you encounter any issues during the upgrade process, feel free to ask for help or troubleshooting tips. Good luck with ...

im just worried about compatibility with the display, and understanding the learning curve to operating this board

the 3v2 screen is a weird one

#

right yeah so id need to get a new interface bc im not too keen on using my phone, see thats good info

#

also worried ab the power supply

#

if id need to upgrade or mess with that

prisma loom
#

power supplly should be fine, you can get a 10$ cheap yellow display for a screen if you really need one and run klipper screen on it, teaching tech has a video on it

oh thank you!!!!!

#

alright i feel alot better about it now

prisma loom
#

another question, why are you doing the upgrades? could be a better value to get a new printer overall

#

if doing upgrades for the fun then its fine, but reworking the hotend is probably the next and at that point just get a new printer

#

youre right but its a logistical thing, bc then id have two printers one that just doesnt work, i already live in a small space and selling a broken printer isnt going to go well....

anyways 😅

whats the current problem that these upgrades would fix? probably better to troubleshoot than start changing

souple things, the z axis being inconsistent (because the other side is held on by tension thanks crality)
my bed is capital w Warped and ive been having issues with my bltouch and i dont really wanna mess with the creality software anymore because despite using the right version of software the printer wont apply the mest to the prints and i get a ton of hotend knock, even if i COULD get a good first layer the nozzle would knock over my prints, which is exactly what happened when i first got the printer

prisma loom
#

so you added a probe and its not applying the mesh right?

#

got a picture of how the first layers look?

upbeat stag
#

i think i do

prisma loom
#

and did you add an all metal hotend that could be clogging?

upbeat stag
#

i didnt mess with the stock hotend

#

the whole printer is stock except for the bltouch

prisma loom
#

you change the firmware and update the slicer start gcode?

upbeat stag
#

i did the firmware i didnt know i had to mess with the slicer stuff

#

im gonna do another test print and ill send the image in a few hours?
i have it a bit dissassembled trying to pick all that glue off the mb

#

bc creality really likes glue for some reason

prisma loom
#

in slicer find machine/printer settings>start gcode, and under the G28 add M420 S1 Z10

#

its ignoring the probed mesh, that will load it
