Hello, I just bought a new X1-Carbon and have been using it for the past week with no issues. I got home today and now No matter what print or how many calibrations I do “or don’t do” The z offset is too high. How would I go about fixing this?

It sounds like you are experiencing issues with your 3D printer's Z offset. Here are a few steps you can take to try and fix this issue:

  1. Check the printer's hardware: Make sure all the connections are secure and there are no loose screws or parts that could be causing the Z offset issue.
  2. Recalibrate the Z offset: Follow the printer's manual or online guides to recalibrate the Z offset to ensure it is set correctly.
  3. Update firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer that may resolve the Z offset issue.
  4. Reach out to technical support: If the issue persists, contact the manufacturer's technical support for further assistance and guidance on resolving the Z offset problem.

I hope these steps help you fix the Z offset issue with your 3D printer.

I want to avoid at all costs changing the z offset in my printers profile. Ive owned a k1 for quite a while now and I've never had to change the z offset. If I'm correct shouldn't the calibration and or the bed level change the z offset automatically

I don't believe there is a way to change the Z Offset on the printer itself as it is automatic
You might need to set one in the slicer if possible

What does your first layer look like?

cant even get a first layer

I'm not sure if this was the cause but i started a print remotely and after the flow calibration there was a bit left on the hot end and it continued with the bed level, After that it couldn't put down the first layer. Ever since that print even if I calibrate it or bed level it seems like the offset doesn't change
