Maybe some day
God damn
What would you say were some of the most important upgrades to get there?
Fans and hotend 100%
Then if you want quality: dual z, pei bed, extruder
Then for speed: board, firmware, and last, motion systems
My hotend good for now
Fans are awful atm though
Can you elaborate on the board bit? And how important is dual Z?
Also what accel is that
So the stock board has 2208 drivers, maybe even worse depending on what board you have
I'm pretty sure I have a 422
With 2209 drivers you can use almost double the amps
With increases stepper torque a lot
Are you cooling the steppers/ did you replace them?
Dual z is good for consistency, so if you ever have parts looking like this
Yea, I swapped my y at least, to a bigger one
That was 300/50/10k with 15 jerk
I see
What should I upgrade first then?
It looks like I'm limited by cooling and some kind of extrusion problem maybe because of bowden
Depends, how much do you want to spend on mods total?
Or not really any limit, just looking to mess around?
Probably spend the least possible
At the moment I'm just trying to find the best way to push it just a little further
I think a toolhead overhaul is due though
Alr, that's about the same boat I'm in
Then definitely get a cht nozzle if you don't have one, and do fans, I'm running dual 5015, and a 4020
At 8000 max accel atm
Klipper uses 6000 90% of the time
Cant see any issues aside from Y stepper getting decently hot and the extrusion issue I mentioned earlier
It's weird though, like if pressure advance isn't working properly
Also what's your extruder accel?
Hmmmm, I don't actually know, I think 6k maybe
4k
Mine is at 4k too
I haven't messed with it though
I think the Bowden is the problem
Yours is using stock repurposed direct drive?
Yes, at the moment
It works better than the bowden, but I'm getting a sherpa soon
I was gonna buy a orbiter but after seeing that speed on a bulky stock direct drive I might try that instead
Do you have a link for that toolhead stl?
Let me see...
One more thing
I haven't touched my amps yet
Could I bump them a little on the stock board? And by how much?
If I'm at 8k I might just barely be able to reach 10k
Thank you
they can handle 1.2 amps, which is about 1.4 vref
Where would I even change that? Printer.cfg?
na, you use the potentiometers on the board with a mulimeter
Ah I see
You turn these little screw things
It kinda sucks to adjust if you don't have alligator clips lol
Yeah I just have prongs
Was really hoping it was like the qidi where you just tell it to change the amps
Does the 422 board have space for an extra blower?
You just split the wire that goes to the 4010 blower
That's it?
So you don't even need to open the bottom panel?
The 422 only has 3 fan ports
Nope
Just cut the wire going to the old fan, solder the 2 blowers together, and solder them to the old wire
