#Advice on how to print an object that is too heavy.

Hello! It sounds like your issue might be related to bed adhesion. Here are a few tips that might help:
-
Make sure your build plate is clean. Use isopropyl alcohol to wipe it down before printing to remove any residue that could affect adhesion.
-
Check the leveling of your build plate. Ensure it is properly leveled so the first layer adheres well to the build plate.
-
If you are printing with a material like ABS or PETG, consider using a brim or a raft to increase the contact area with the build plate.
-
Consider using a higher initial layer height or adjusting your printing speed to improve bed adhesion.
I hope these tips help you improve the adhesion of your prints! Let me know if you have any other questions.
I am currently using an ender 3 pro.
And PLA
And Cura.
I have tried a brim, a raft, normal supports, and tree supports. Yet none of them seem to do it.

What does your first layer look like? Can you take a picture of it
I can show you how it looks in slicer mode, the printer is leveled properly so it prints the first layer well,
Slicer is different from the real world. If your z_offset is so the first few layers are fine but as soon as the point of gravity of the print gets higher it lacks adhesion
Another option is reducing your print speed and or cleaning the build plate with dish soap
I print at half speed already,
this is around the time it fails
everything up to this point looks right, but then one of the ends just wiggles a bit and then it starts printing wrong
I've used Isopropyl alcohol normally, does dish soap give better adhesion?
and should I just do the blue tape method?
Dish soap doesn't give better adhesion itself but it cleans the bed better than IPA. When you use IPA you need to make sure you wash of the IPA afterwards
I would do a first layer testprint if I were you, then check the bottom of it to see how well the layers are
do you think a different orientation could help?
Holy moly that's a lot of support material
yeah, its not a dense support infill tho,
Can you link to the download of the horns?
Want to see if I can find a better orientation for you
I can dm you the stl if you would like, but i paid for the file from a seperate website,
Ah nah, then it's okay. We are not allowed to do that 🙂
I figured,
Could you lay it flat on it's back or are the horns too long?
It's hard to judge from the picture
Another option is geting a gluestick for having the first layer stick
sadly in my expierence the glue stick onlymakes things worse,
I feel like the blue tape method would be best if im looking for more adhesion
I think ideally, if I could make custom supports to keep those cheek covers straight, then that would be the way to go
from what I just tried, I think I have it the best way for this model.. So I think it just needs to be properly supported
Have you tried tree supports?
