Printer: Odin 5 F3
Software: Fokoos Slicer (Cura 4.8)
Material: FlashForge PETG Burnt Titanium
Bed Temp: 90c
Extruder Temp: 230c

Issue: Having not changed any settings, my last few prints have been experiencing this 1cm layer shift after several layers. Additionally, Im suddenly getting a lot more oozing than ever before. Large globs throughout these prints. The two pictured are tiny by comparison. I also noticed the nozzle is oozing more often while heating up, usually starting around 180-200 when FlashForge recommends 230-250C extruder and 80-100C bed for their PETG.

It sounds like you are experiencing several issues with your prints:

  1. Layer shifting: Check if any of the belts are loose or if the pulleys are slipping. Ensure that all components are properly tightened and aligned.

  2. Oozing: This could be due to the extruder temperature being too high, causing the filament to ooze out. Try lowering the temperature gradually to see if the oozing improves. Additionally, check if the nozzle is clean and not clogged.

  3. Oozing during heating up: This could be caused by the thermal expansion of the filament in the hotend. Consider wiping off any oozing filament before starting a print, or experiment with different starting temperatures to minimize oozing.

Make sure to also calibrate your print settings and ensure the filament is loaded correctly. If the issues persist, you may want to consider contacting Odin or FlashForge support for further assistance.

Only mod is BLTouch. Firmware is the one offerred by fokoos for using BLTouch with odin 5 F3.

Ive mainly been looking at retraction settings since confirming this isnt a one time fluke

#

Ive never seen a recommended extruder temp below 220c for petg, so I dont think I can lower temp enough to effect it much when the oozing starts <200c.

#

This has been occurring with a brand new nozzle

The new Nozzle may be the problem anime_thinkhard

There should not be filament there

Mine does look like the second there

If you are tightening the nozzle cold thermal expansion loosens it enough

For a leak

#

I installed at 200c

yeah and printed at over 200ºC

#

You need to tighten above your printing temp

#

How far above?

Higher🤷 theres no fixed value for that. If you want to be extra secure as hot as it goes safely, so 240ºC for a short time on a ptfe lined hotend

Done
