Im completely new to 3d printing so please help.
I wanted to get into 3d printing for a while now but I just don't know how to start.
I've watched some videos on YouTube but I still find it quiet hard.
So my main qeustions are :
1 what printer should I get. I will mostly use my printer for dnd miniatures.
2 What is the best place to buy a printer? I live in the EU, Netherlands
3 i don't really want to pay extra money for a wash and cure station. Do I really need one or does someone know a good way to wash it without a washing station? (I have a just a simple uv light I could use for curing.)
4 I don't really know a place I can place it since we live in a fairly small house. My mother suggest I just do it in my room, on my desk. Is this a good idea or should I look for another place in the house?

If you have any other tips pls let me know.

For everyone taking the time to respond and help, thank you so much. I really appreciate it.

  1. For D&D miniatures, a good starting 3D printer is the Ender 3 V2 or the Anycubic Photon Mono X resin printer. Both printers are popular for their quality and affordability in the EU market.

  2. In the Netherlands, you can consider buying from local retailers like 3DPrima, Duet3D, or MakerPoint. Online marketplaces like Amazon or AliExpress also offer a wide selection of 3D printers.

  3. While having a wash and cure station is convenient, it's not necessary to start. You can wash resin prints manually with a gentle detergent and isopropyl alcohol. Curing with a UV light is sufficient; just ensure to follow proper safety precautions for handling resin and curing.

  4. It's generally fine to place a 3D printer in your room on a desk, but ventilation is important. Resin printing can produce fumes, so ensure the room is well-ventilated. Consider using a protective enclosure for the printer if you're concerned about odors.

Good luck with your 3D printing journey, and feel free to as...

  1. all current resin printers roughly have the same qualtity. 12k resolution is a lie (basically). Ask in #✅|help-resin for further info.

  1. Somewhere with good return policy

  1. No to wash, strainer in a container works. Yes to cure. You absolutely will have to cure the stuff to completion. Again: #✅|help-resin

  1. absolutely f*ing not in your room or anywhere where living things reside. You'll need some very good ventilation around the printer and copious amounts of isopropanol for washing.

Remember: Resin is cancer juice

The printer is the cheap part. Plan on getting materials and safety equipment for about 200€
