In the title. I do not know if it is compensating for something but it has nothing in common with the mesh that was probed. I DO load the mesh on print start. I am so done with this by now that if I can't find the solution the thing gets whacked with the hammer and gets thrown in the garbage.
#Klipper doesn't give a damn about the ABL probed mesh

AI Help
It sounds like you may be experiencing issues with mesh compensation or loading the correct mesh for your 3D print. Make sure the correct mesh file is loaded before starting the print, and verify that your slicing software settings match the actual dimensions of the printed object. If you're still having trouble, I recommend checking forums for your specific printer or reaching out to customer support for troubleshooting assistance. Remember to stay calm and patient - we can tackle this issue together without resorting to extreme measures. Let me know if you need further assistance or have any other questions related to 3D printing!

what is your variance
gimme a sec, I will test right now
Or you mean the mesh variance?
mesh variance, should be on the height calibration you have there
It is pretty awful
you got a real taco
Yeah that's why I bought a probe
ok have you coded in g29 and is it in your start macro
No, I only ran a calibration and saved the mesh. And I load it in START_PRINT section in klipper's printer.cfg
the real power of klipper is your macros
That's how it looks like
so you save yours to specific names?
yes, it is not "default". I've seen people saying it works weird so to be sure I save and load with a different name
you do you, i leave mine as default, but everyone has their way.
i would switch to a g or m code as opposed to the actual command
but otherwise this all looks pretty good
based on the fact that it looks good id say your having an issue with z offset but thats a best guess
z offset of the probe or the print or something else..?
z offset referst to the distance of the nozzle to the bed when you set z to zero
im far from an expert as i have z offset issues myself lol
I ran a z offset calibration test, gimme a sec to find the page
Ok I can't find the page on printables but I used this and z offset live adjust to find the sweetspot. The area of the bed I printed it on is the one looks the best in the photo I posted
Oh found it, this
https://www.printables.com/model/251587-stress-free-first-layer-calibration-in-less-than-5/files
you have a am6 mesh at the bottom of your config? i dont know how klipper is on loading meshes if you havent run save_config recently as well
oh i just print a square at layer height and adjust lol
This is the only mesh I got and yeah it is there
just to verify its calling the start macro from the slicer right? and did you set/get the probe offsets
Yes and yes
probe on the left side almost in line with the x?
what printer as well, x gantry could be a factor, but thats not what im seeing
It was a cheapo Anet A6, but rebuilt for 2020 extrusion
Yeah the probe is almost in line with the nozzle on X
hmm, you leveled the x gantry yourself? just to get that out of the way
Yes. I brought it almost to the top by Z, disengaged the motors and rotated both screws by hand up until the gantry touches the top brackets on both sides
try it in the reverse, from the bed/frame, closer to where you want to calibrate
Give me a few, will try now
also take something square and try to see if the extrusions going up are square, easiest to check from the front then the back to see if its off
and the offset looks like it could get a little lower to help with it
You mean square to the base?
yeah\
which one?
z offset, make the nozzle push the filament into the bed a little more
if this doesnt fix it my next/last guess offhand is x axis twist, moving the hotend left to right rotates it slightly, havent followed the documentation on how to fix but i know its a thing
The extrusions are dead on, releveled the X gantry as per your suggestion
bed level time?
I mean manual. Or can I just skip it?
bed level variance under 0.5 should be fine, something else seems to be the problem
mesh made when the bed was hot as well?
YEah sure
I mean now that I adjusted X it might be not parallel to the bed
yeah, i make a new mesh every print so i forget to remesh
Also, this was during the last time I tried to make a new mesh
probe trash?
also seen ppl say the z couplers may be the culprit but idk
Thanks for this btw, will try it
.005 is normal, that jumps .013 or so, should be workable, though not exact
so no good then? It is twice as off as it should be
almost thrice
.005 is expected, .013 is workable, wont get perfect first layers, but should be better than this
I will try the axis twist thing now, hope this helps..
So I tried this and somehow now the calibration process got way more reliable with fewer retries. I also noticed The retries happen more frequently at the back of the bed. nonetheless, here's the new mesh it generated and I have no clue on what to make of it =/
you tried a print with it to test?
No, I am afraid I will damage something ._.
Also, is there a way to make Z homing similar to bed probing? Like where it retries and uses the median value and such?
samples:x under probe https://www.klipper3d.org/Config_Reference.html#probe
Yeah it works only when probing, not when homing
I installed this https://github.com/matthewlloyd/Klipper-Stable-Z-Home but it just reruns the homing command and has no parameters like sample_retract_dist and speed which really help to get accurate probing results.
im not aware of a way to do so when homing, another reason to just make a new mesh every print
Seems too long. I homed using this plugin and will remesh now, just to see if it is any different
look into KAMP instead, meshes the used areas instead of the whole thing
I want to make sure it gets applied properly first, and then sure this is the way to go
Looks way better now
Also, it is almost the same as the previous one in terms of the shape so we have some consistency
Same result.
The thing is going to the garbage. I am done.
I don't care if that's kinematics or software or both. I am just gonna smash every part of it and never ever attempt to print again.
Thank you for trying to help tho @strange mesa I really appreciate that.
if it helps the thing is probably still a fire hazard if its the old power supply anyways, ill play a 21 gun salute on my kazoo
Yeah we destroy any hazards here so the thing will never endanger anyone. I always suspected it was against liberty and democracy
