Wondering if anyone here can help me demystify and attack my 3d printing artifacts.

Some notes:

  • pla filament, hot end @200c, bed @57c, 127g used
    -printer: cr s1 pro
-some tiny craters in print surface, not associated with z-seam.
-some pla boogers on edges of print corners/vertices.
-overall fuzzy print job with recommended factory retraction settings.
-some popping noises from hot end every few minutes, but I doubt it is because of moist filament, because I tried a brand new filament earlier and had the same symptoms.

Thanks in advance!

It sounds like you may be experiencing issues with your 3D prints due to a few different factors. Here are some suggestions for troubleshooting:

  1. Tiny craters in the print surface: These could be caused by the nozzle digging into the print as it moves. Try adjusting your print settings to ensure that the nozzle is not too close to the bed during the first layer. You may also want to check for any debris on the bed that could be causing these imperfections.

  2. PLA boogers on edges of print corners/vertices: This issue is often due to oozing filament during travel moves. Try increasing your retraction distance and speed settings to reduce stringing and boogers.

  3. Fuzzy print job with recommended factory retraction settings: Fuzzy prints can be a sign of over-extrusion. Try calibrating your extrusion multiplier and flow rate to ensure that you are extruding the correct amount of filament.

  4. Popping noises from the hot end: While it's good that you've ruled out m...

  1. No debris on the print bed, it is pristine. This isn't anything to do with the print bed, but rather the print quality on the walls of the print.
2 & 3 will have to look into over extrusion problems.
  2. Inconclusive 🥲
