AI Help

I would need more specific information in order to assess whether you should be worried or if your 3D printer is broken. However, I can provide general troubleshooting tips to help you determine the issue and whether a replacement is necessary. Please provide details about the problem you're experiencing with your 3D printer.

bad bearings, fan will work fine until it locks up, keep it and if it gets worse replace it

#

worse case scenario you get heat creep and a clog IF it fails

#

depends how bad downtime would be to you

i mean it wouldnt matter too much to me if i have to replace it and wait or smth

ah

#

to be fair, that could just be a bit of filament wisp stuck in the fan

#

that happened all the time with my ender 3

#

take the shroud off and clean it out and see if it dissapeards

sweet mantle
#

how do i do that

#

i do have experience with 3d printing but im new to the ender 3

severe geyser
#

look on youtube, a picture paints a thousand words and a video paints a thousand pictures

#

but it's just 2 allen headed bolts near the "ender" logo if I recall correctlyt

@severe geyser ok now it really doesnt sound good

#

i removed the part, found a string thing inside that im like 98% sure was filament, removed it, put it back on, turned on the printer and now its making a weird sound that sounds like a vacuum cleaner

Take pic of the "filament string" you took out if you still have it, just in case. Take vid of the noise its making now

sweet mantle
#

im not sure what i did with the string but ill take a vid

Open it up again and make sure the fans are completely clear and no wires are in the way. Once you close it back up, if it still makes the noise, let it run/preheat for a couple minutes and see if it goes away

#

I'm no expert, but since no one else responded I figured I'd try to look stuff up about it, and thats what some reddit forums suggested

#

Otherwise, you may be inclined to invest in a new fan.. apparently the included fans are pretty cheap in terms of bearings and stuff

Yeah that vibration is something loose or dragging in the fan, make sure everything is clear

#

If that isn't the issue, you have bad bearings and need a new fan, the one on my E3 went bad after just 2 weeks
