I apologize, but I need more specific information to assist you. Please let me know what you are referring to in order to determine if it's normal or not.
I would not know for 3d printers but ik rc and some airsoft is like that and the small electronics are similar but don't take this as 100% correct
I'm also into RC and FPV drones specifically, and they never are supposed to do this
God no, thats not normal!
Theres something arcing behind that cover
Unplug immediately. Self build or preassembled?

ground ur 3d printer
Assembled by really inexperienced highschoolers
I had to tighten every other screw and loosen the y axis because of tense it was.
I never had checked the wiring in that panel but now that u say it's not normal I might need to
Please do that

Opened it up to see absolutely the worst cable management in my life. So apparently one of the connections somehow ripped out, and the kids decided to just strip the cable and stuff it into the connector. I crimped all the wires on a new connector and put everything back in with actual cable management
The x axis motor gear was also the wrong orientation causing the belt to run along the plastic which would slowly eat away the belt and cause a lot of noise and friction while moving 😵💫
Idk if I should completely take apart the whole printer and reassemble it because now I'm suspicious of it fully being wrongly put apart
