#Extruder only move too long in end GCode (Klipper)

My filament ran out during a print and I got the error Extrude only move too long (-450.000mm vs 100.000mm)

I believe it is because

G1 E-450 F600 # Retract 450mm of filament

how can I fix the GCode so this doesn't happen in the future? (this print failed)

This is the runout GCODE:

runout_gcode:
  G91
  G1 Z20 F900 # Raise Z away from print
  G90
  G1 X245 Y218.5 F5000 # Move to purge area
  G91
  G1 E-450 F600 # Retract 450mm of filament
  G90

To avoid this issue in the future, you can modify the GCode by using relative extrusion rather than absolute extrusion.

Instead of using G1 E-450 F600 for retracting 450mm of filament, you can use G1 E-450 F600 to retract the filament by -450mm. This way, it will retract the remaining amount of filament based on the current position rather than an absolute position.

Here's an example of how the modified GCode would look:

G91 # Set to Relative Positioning
G1 E-450 F600 # Retract 450mm of filament
G90 # Set to Absolute Positioning

By using relative positioning (G91), the extruder will retract based on the current position rather than relying on the absolute position. Then, you can switch back to absolute positioning (G90) after the retraction is done.

Keep in mind that some slicing software already incorporates relative extrusion as a default setting, so make sure to check the settings in your slicing software as well.

G91 makes it relative, so it retracts from where it currently is, that's fine and expected, but it's trying to retract too much for klippers pespective

So either let klipper move more or edit the command to not go as far
