I’m officially at a loss. Today I noticed my CRTouch isn’t leveling like it’s supposed to, and is dipping in a couple corners. I’ve had the touch for about a week now, and originally had the stock bltouch for Ender 3 v2 firmware installed, and everything was fine up until today. I’ve tried everything from tightening eccentric nuts to installing Jyers ui all the way up to a 15x15 bed, and the same thing happens every time I try and print something: always one or more corners is off, even though my z offset is properly set, the bed mesh is correct (meshed it myself like 5 times and same result), and nothing seems to work. A couple images are attached (videos didn’t send originally) so please if you have any advice I will take anything and everything. The leveling test is almost always the exact same way, with the two rear ends being way too low and the two front ends being almost a half mm too high.
Thank you!

It sounds like you're experiencing leveling issues with your CR Touch on your Ender 3 v2. Here are some troubleshooting tips you can try:
-
Check your wiring: Make sure all the connections are secure and properly plugged in. Inspect the wiring for any damage or loose connections.
-
Recalibrate your Z offset: Double-check that your Z offset is correctly set. You may need to adjust it slightly to ensure proper leveling.
-
Inspect your nozzle and bed: Check if there are any obstructions on the nozzle or bed that could interfere with the leveling process. Clean them if necessary.
-
Check the stability of your printer: Ensure that the printer itself is stable and not wobbling during the leveling process. Stability issues can affect the accuracy of the leveling.
-
Reset and reflash firmware: Sometimes, firmware glitches can cause leveling problems. Try resetting your firmware to default settings or reflash the latest version of the firmware.
-
Contact the manufacturer: If none...
Creality Ender 3 v2
CRTouch and currently JyersUI 15x15 UBl installed

Just as a sanity check you’ve made sure to add the mesh enable gcode to the slicer right
Yeah it’s all in there
Should I send the level test gcode and see if that’s the issue?
Could you send your start gcode from your slicer
; Ender 3 Custom Start G-code G92 E0 ; Reset Extruder G28 ; Home all axes G29 L0 ; Load mesh from slot 0 G29 J2; tilt mesh G1 Z2.0 F3000 ; Move Z Axis up little to prevent scratching of Heat Bed G1 X0.1 Y20 Z0.3 F5000.0 ; Move to start position G1 X0.1 Y200.0 Z0.3 F1500.0 E15 ; Draw the first line G1 X0.4 Y200.0 Z0.3 F5000.0 ; Move to side a little G1 X0.4 Y20 Z0.3 F1500.0 E30 ; Draw the second line G92 E0 ; Reset Extruder G1 Z2.0 F3000 ; Move Z Axis up little to prevent scratching of Heat Bed G1 X5 Y20 Z0.3 F5000.0 ; Move over to prevent blob squish
That's not how that works-
I deleted the function that levels it every time as I didn't want to wait for all 200+ points to be measured for a 5 minute test lol
i just read back your message and it looks like I only have the load mesh code, G29 L0, am I forgetting another code which enables it...
I swear if that's the reason lmao
So I'm looking on the marlinfw.org/docs/gcode site, and found that G29 A is the code that I deleted, but even when it was in the start code, the leveling still didn't work and I was having the same problem.
Ok so the reason I was thinking it wasn't enabled at all is since the bed seems to physically be tilted higher on the back and lower on the front
and your prints are getting squished at the back (bed too high) and are printing mid air at the front (bed too low)
G28 ; Home all axes
G29 A ; Activate the UBL System.
G29 L0 ; Load UBL at slot 0
G29 J2 ; 4-point level
did you gcode have this in this order when you had G29 A?
When you pressed save mesh after the printer measured the 15x15 points, did you have an sd card inserted?
yep - I also just changed the firmware to a 10x10 to make it a little faster
It's supposed to save the mesh to the EEPROM, no?
Nevermind, now it's not even letting me update the firmware (either that or the files are wrong)
Yes, I’ve just heard before that not having a sd card can sometimes cause issues
ah okay - I'm trying to see if reinstalling the stock bltouch firmware will work again, and going back to the original gcode with only G28 G29
although I really do want to get the Jyers firmware to work, it seems so much better 😓
One more thing before you do
Try to click the enable mesh checkbox before the print and see if that fixes it
is... is it not normally supposed to be checked?
I've had it checked before every print I tried when I had it installed
Ah okay, yeah it didnt work even with that then
Before you had auto leveling was your first layer affected in the same way as it is now
No, when I spent the time to manually level using the gears on the bottom (those are still on btw, don't know if that makes any difference) I got a nice first layer, but I didn't want to spend 40 minutes to level the bed every time it didn't stick well, so I got a CRTouch module
Are your bed screws tightened all the way right now?
No but they aren't loose. If I tighten the back screws all the way then the back of the bed scrapes against the Y stepper motor and ruins the leveling in that way
Since that can sometimes make the bed be so low the z axis won’t reach
Yeah the z axis can reach just fine since it's pressing against the bed again
doing another test with the stock bltouch firmware and it's doing the exact same thing
starting to think its something with my setup and not the firmware ;-;
Try using this order and see if that fixes it
Since I think the mesh won’t load unless ubl is enabled by g29 first
will do
To be clear, I should be using the file labeled as E3V2-UBL-BLTouch-10x10-v4.2.2-v2.0.1 right?
The board is a 4.2.2, i've checked that already when I installed the crtouch module for the first time
Yes
Don't think it would even upload if it was a 4.2.7 or whatever
Using G29 A won't make it redo the bed level will it? I may have had the wrong firmware in the past where it was trying to load from EEPROM slot -1, so I'll try it again, but I think that was another problem before is that it was overwriting the already created leveling mesh and had the wrong data from it
If you have ubl which it seems like you do, G29 A won't recreate the mesh every time
yeah I think the very first time I didn't use the UBL one, so hopefully this crap works :/
thanks for all your help by the way, i really appreciate it
The z axis offset wouldn't be affected by any gcode in any way, would it?
not unless you set it in the slicer
I'm trying to think if somewhere it's overriding the offset so it doesn't use the one I have set on the printer
I'll try and look to see if i did that lol
you can also try live adjusting the offset as it prints but I don't think z offset is the issue here
I have, but it still keeps the same data as if the mesh doesn't exist
Did changing the order of start gcode do anything?
it doesn't level every time does it?
only when you click level
The 10x10 is the one currently installed
ubl or abl?
I haven't tested that yet, I'm still getting the main mesh
ubl
Yeah didn't really want to sit through 250 probing points
other times it would just completely delete the mesh (again might be because i didnt use the ubl one) so I got fed up with it eventually lol
Halfway there though, I'll update what happens when I try the new starting gcode
Before I switched to klipper I had jyers with a 10x10 ubl mesh and in my experience its more than enough to get an accurate mesh so id say 15x15 isn't really worth it in general lol
I mean the 3x3 that the creality firmware had was enough for a week until it crapped itself
New mesh, just about the same as the last one
I mean it's better than it was before now - the center is pretty much perfect, bottom right is as well, but the other three corners are a little short
I'm going to try a manual calibration to see if that might work, or at least test the offsets in the corners
At that point it might just come to z offset adjustment as well
It's still acting as if the mesh isn't even there - could this be something as simple as how the crtouch is installed on the gantry?
Just saw on another reddit post that "inconsisted probe triggering" is a thing, could this be the issue?
I'm actually going to have to pick this up tomorrow - I'm starting to get pissed off by how much I've tried and how much isn't working. I got close with the recent prints but they're still doing basically the same thing. Every time it makes a mesh and I set the Z offset it's good for the center, but nowhere else. Then when I live change the offset while its printing the test it's only good for the center and one of the corners, which I guess is better than just the center, but still doesn't help.
Thank you again for your help though, even though I still couldn't figure it out. I've tried manually leveling the bed too but I'm not good at that at all, and seemed to make it worse anyways.
Yeah, no problem, as a last resort, if you think the issue is firmware you could check out mriscoc's professional firmware since that one is actively maintained
