#ender 5 plus layer inconsistency
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
If your first layer went down fine but subsequent layers are messy, there could be a few potential issues causing this problem:
-
Check the nozzle and bed leveling: Make sure your nozzle isn't clogged and you have properly leveled your bed. A poorly leveled bed can result in improper adhesion and affect subsequent layers.
-
Filament feeding issues: Verify that the filament is feeding smoothly without any obstructions. A tangled or poorly guided filament can cause inconsistent extrusion, leading to a messy print.
-
Overheating: If the temperature is too high, the filament can become too liquid, leading to stringing and messiness. Ensure your printer is set to the correct temperature for the filament being used.
-
Print speed: If the print speed is too high, the extruder may struggle to keep up, resulting in inaccurate deposition of filament. Try reducing the print speed to achieve better results.
-
Cooling and ventilation: Inadequate cooling can cause filament to warp and d...
Layer quality is appearing to get worse as the print goes on
looks like it is not extruding enough
I would recommend calibrating esteps first
than flow
then try again
I second this. I had the same issue for a long time and I couldn't figure it out. Even though my E-Steps are correct I had to tune for flow and now I get much better prints.

How to calibrate E-steps on Ender 3 Pro 3D Printer - actually, this will work for any 3D printer with a Bowden Tube.
I just installed a dual extruder on my Ender 3 Pro and found that my E-steps were off, this is the follow up to that install and how I easily calibrated the dual extruder.
E-Steps can be a pain sometimes to diagnose. You might s...
