Printer: Ender 3 V3 SE

I am brand new to 3d printing and had just gotten this printer. Was really excited to dive in but I came across a serious problem. It only printed a little bit before stopping. Nothing will extrude and it doesn't appear to be clogged. I took apart the extruder to find any clog but after taking any filament out, it still won't print.

Is it a faulty extruder or user error? Any help would be appreciated!

AI Help

It's possible that you are experiencing a faulty extruder or it could be a user error. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check the filament path: Ensure that the filament is properly inserted into the extruder and that there are no tangles or obstructions in the filament path.

  2. Filament feeding: Manually push some filament through the extruder to check if it feeds properly. If it doesn't, there may be an issue with the extruder's gear or tension adjustment.

  3. Check the nozzle temperature: Make sure the nozzle is heating to the correct temperature for your filament. Incorrect temperature can cause extrusion problems, so consult the filament manufacturer's guidelines for the correct temperature range.

  4. Calibrate the extruder: Ensure that the extruder steps/mm are properly calibrated. You can do this by following online guides or using calibration tools.

  5. Test with different filament: If possible, try using a different filament to see if the issue persist...

I'm using the sample filament that was given as I have yet to buy any.

I had cut the filament and put new filament in so I don't think that's the problem.

Make sure the filament doesn't get tangled, this prevents it from being pulled by the Extruder

Still in need of help. The filament was never tangled. I watched it myself.

I just tried to extrude without the nozzle so we can rule that out

reddit is suggesting to loosen the spring in the extruder.

I found another clog so I cleared it out. Hoping for the best here
